Toy and Book Drive 2006
Each year PAL teams up with the Redwood City Police Officer's Associaton and the Redwood City Firefighter's Association to coordinate the annual Toy & Book Drive. This year we provided over 12,000 toys and books to close to 600 families in the Redwood City area.
Each season the Toy and Book Drive delivers barrels to local businesses to collect toys and books. We also held toy collection events at Mervyn's Plaza and Oracle. These gifts are wrapped for delivery by the hundreds of volunteers that attend our wrapping party, this year held at Red Morton Community Center.
The gifts are then delivered to each family by Santa Claus on either Fire trucks or Police cars. This delivery process spans over three nights with several police and fire volunteers.
